Approximately 915 pieces of trash were collected. Some of this high count was due broken beer bottles found by some volunteers and of course the numerous plastic and foam pieces found scattered around the park. Total Weight was about 31 pounds, but considering that much the trash was foam, plastic, paper, and other light stuff, this is allot of TRASH!
Significant Clothing Findings included socks, a blouse and underwear….. yuk! Significant Personal Hygiene Findings …… eww!! We won’t even go there! Here are the Stats. Plastic pieces came in first at 238 pieces, followed by cigarette butts at 166, followed closely by foam and glass pieces at 126 and 143, respectively. All in all we had a really great day. Many thanks to all of you for taking time out of your Saturday to help our community. Did you miss it? You can find another beach cleanup event by going to Alliance for the Great Lakes Adopt-A-Beach program. 6/26/2017 11:35:48 am
I'd love to join in this cleanup as well. I want to help contribute for the benefit of the community. We should all do our part in helping out the environment. Lake harbor is one of the few wonders in our city and we should do our best to value its importance. Hopefully, a lot of people will volunteer for this cleanup. 7/25/2017 02:20:23 am
This is very good work done by everyone. Clean and pure is health of nature. After reading this news, I am really impressed because we all get motivation from that all. Comments are closed.
